My favorite beauty looks are the ones that appear as natural as possible. I don’t want to feel or look like I have layers of makeup on and over the past couple of years, I’ve been narrowing down my products to the bare minimum. I first and foremost focus on my skincare, so that my base (my natural skin) can look its best. I now use my makeup to only enhance features instead of covering things up. This natural contoured look is one of the most subtle but dramatic beauty looks because it defines the features that I want accentuated without having to put on a lot of makeup.
One of my go-to beauty looks is a simple, fresh contoured looking face. Going back to my focus on enhancing features, adding a bit of highlight and contouring can add a subtle but noticeable difference. My first step before the process is to add Estée Lauder’s New Dimension Shape + Fill Expert Serum. I use the Shape + Fill Expert Serum all over my face before I apply my moisturizer. This helps to slowly define the look of your cheeks and jawbone over just a few short weeks.
To create a natural contoured look, I start with Esteé Lauder’s New Dimension Shape + Sculpt Face Kit. The palette comes with one contour shade and one highlight shade. Before applying any other makeup, I add the contour shade under my cheekbones and along my jawline to slightly define each of them. It’s important to blend in the contour as much as possible to make it look as natural as possible. Again, my goal is to lightly define not look like I have layers and layers of makeup on. Since my face is still dewy from my beauty products, the matte cream blends in perfectly.
I then add the highlight to my nose, cheekbones and brow bone to give that luminous glow.
I rarely wear eyeshadow since I find that it’s too much color for my face, so I love using Esteé Lauder’s New Dimension Shape + Sculpt Eye Kit to still enhance my eyes. The trio comes with steps to smooth, highlight and contour. First, I apply the creamy base to prep my lid before applying the highlighter under my eyebrows and on the inner corner of my eyes. This brightens up the eyes and makes even the most tired eyes look awake and fresh. I lastly apply the contour to the crease my of lid to add that natural definition we’re always looking for.
Lastly, I make sure everything is blended in together just right. The results are natural and dewy, just enough to leave the house as-is or the perfect base to apply a bit more (foundation, mascara and a lip).
